This site is really interesting, and I wish more young people like myself were into reenacting and appreciated history more!
Thanks

We are looking for re-enactors to bring life to a V.E Day celebrations scene. This two minute adverstisement is being created for the Tank Museum in Bovington (Wareham, Dorset).

The scene will be shot on-location, at the Tank Museum itself on Wednesday 26th May 2010.

We are looking to recreate a liberation celebration of a small town by British and American troops. There will be live tanks running through the scene including the Sherman, Dingo, Comet and American Half-Track. A wartime Harley Davidson motorcylce will also be ripping through the scene and re-enactors are being encouraged to bring any relevant flags and banners that they may have to bring more vibrance and colour to the scene.

Please let me know if you are interested.

For more information, please send your enquiries to this address:
charlene.rolfe@hotmail.co.uk

Alternatively, leave me your phone number and a relevant time to call. I would happily discuss the project with you in person.

Thank you for your time,
Charlene Rolfe

me and my brother saw you today at elvington airfield in york at the military vehicle rally and we were talking to one of your re-enacters about possibly joining the ranks. we are both 14 and would love the chance to relive the experiences of WWII. we are not exactly rich and we may not be able to afford all of the kit needed. we would probably be able to buy the uniform but we would have difficultly when it came to buying our equiptment eg replica weapons and tools. we would need to talk it over with my parents so we wouldnt definitely be joining but were wondering to what extent the society could help in terms of equiptment eg weapons and tools.
kind regards, Calum :-)

Gent?s,

Any chance FJ39-45 can use Selby in March 26th-27th-28th?

We plan to rehearse for Elvington and build a jump tower at your place with a view to storing it at Imhoff so we can pop in on the way to Elvington in May for collection, if that is OK with the NAS?

We had a venue booked further South but the plans fell through last minute.

Clearly if you want a joint training weekend or just a chance for a social I say ?DO IT?.

If this suggestion is a goer let me know site fees for the weekend, if not no problem fellas 

Mit kameradschaftlichen gruessen,

Chappy.

I know There are U.S. reactors on this site, don't hide. This question is specifiably for all of you. We all know that Roosevelt got jealous at the smocks the British paras got and had to make his own version, the HBT camo uniform. I have questioned why was this camoflage used in ETO? Shouldn't this camo not exist? I know that the reason the Marine style camouflage was not in the ETO because of its resemblance to waffen SS camo. The HBT camo also looks like the SS camo.

Why was the HBT Used in the ETO? Thanks, Porter
