Thanks to my Father's service in the European theater, I have a small yet significant collection of both Weer and SS artifacts from WWII. I truly appreciate your site.
Hi
Looking for someone to come to our Armed Forces Day in Beverley 3rd July 2011. Please get in touch if you want to come and exhibit.
Cllr David K Elvidge
Hi, My father Daniel Gordon THOMSON R.I.P. was amongst the original members of the parachute regiment and fought at Arnhem. sadly, as is so common, he would never really open up and 'tell his story'. I recall going with him to the regimental association gatherings and being privileged to meet some extraordinary gentlemen/characters (many whom also attended his funeral) I would love to be able to trace any records relating to Dad and to this end would be obliged if anyone within your society could assist me.
Kind Regards
David Thomson
G'day mates
I'm a member of 3 Field Ambulance here in Australia - a WW1/WW2 reenactment group. A few of my mates and I portray WW2 British paras but we dont belong to a group. Do you have an Australian chapter or can we join your organisation? We have a 1942 jeep and uniforms. I' anticipating the UK in 2011 and wonder if there are any events I can take part in either as a para or as an Aussie WW2 soldier. If you can help in any way that would be great. Cheers Kim
I am a member of the Royal British Legion riders branch we are holding our 2011 national ralley at TRIMLEY near FELIXSTOWE Suffolk 30th July 2011 we are hoping that reenactment groups would be able to attend and put on static displays with members who are veterans and currently serving in the armed Forces it would be greatly appreciated if you could help us.
we have camping facilities available and an entertainment programme at night which you would be most welcome to attend as well.
this will be our branch celebrations of 90 years of legion life please contact me if you are able to help or not
I think everbody has seen the parachute regiment sholder titles on some website. However I noticed that there are 2 paterns. There is one with maroon backing and one with blue backing. Why is that? I asume that this is because they were issued to diffrent units. Which units got which?
Hello to all your members.I would like to thank all the people I spoke to on Saturday at Usworth North East Aviation Museam. It was great for me as a fellow re-enactor, catching up on general things. As I said to them, I work in the Middle East and I do miss out on a lot of events because of this!I wish you all the best for the rest of the year and hope to see you next year at Elvington!Cheers Neil Stewart.
We are looking for re-enactors to bring life to a V.E Day celebrations scene. This two minute adverstisement is being created for the Tank Museum in Bovington (Wareham, Dorset).
The scene will be shot on-location, at the Tank Museum itself on Wednesday 26th May 2010.
We are looking to recreate a liberation celebration of a small town by British and American troops. There will be live tanks running through the scene including the Sherman, Dingo, Comet and American Half-Track. A wartime Harley Davidson motorcylce will also be ripping through the scene and re-enactors are being encouraged to bring any relevant flags and banners that they may have to bring more vibrance and colour to the scene.
Please let me know if you are interested.

Alternatively, leave me your phone number and a relevant time to call. I would happily discuss the project with you in person.
me and my brother saw you today at elvington airfield in york at the military vehicle rally and we were talking to one of your re-enacters about possibly joining the ranks. we are both 14 and would love the chance to relive the experiences of WWII. we are not exactly rich and we may not be able to afford all of the kit needed. we would probably be able to buy the uniform but we would have difficultly when it came to buying our equiptment eg replica weapons and tools. we would need to talk it over with my parents so we wouldnt definitely be joining but were wondering to what extent the society could help in terms of equiptment eg weapons and tools.
kind regards, Calum :-)
